“It’s just silly, really,” said police chief Keb Less.  “Say one of my officers pulled over a driver with a picture of a cartoon cat on her license.  How are we supposed to know if it’s really her?”

But state legislator BonBon Dent said the new law simply reflects the will of the people.  “Pretty much everyone hates their driver’s license photo, so why not let them choose one they really like?”

The state legislature is scheduled to vote on the measure next week.
