Ford to Bring Back Crown Victoria as an SUV

An anonymous source told Parksplug today that Ford will bring back the Crown Victoria for the 2019 model year as a law-enforcement only vehicle.  The biggest change, however, is that the Crown Vic will be transformed from a four-door sedan into a three-row SUV.

Ford spokesman Gulliver Dowdle declined to confirm or deny the rumor.  “But I will tell you that Ford receives a lot of letters from cops who really miss the Crown Victoria,” said Dowdle, who acknowledged that spellcheck keeps changing his last name to Doodle.

While our source doesn’t know which engine will power the new Crown Vic Police Interceptor, he did say it will come equipped from the factory with “coffee-stained seat covers.”
