Heavy-Duty Honda Ridgeline Captured on Camera

RidgeIf two photographs we received from an anonymous source are to be believed, Honda’s Ridgeline pickup may soon have a bigger, bulkier brother.

While the heavy-duty truck utilizes a beefed-up version of the standard unibody platform, it does not use the standard 3.5 liter Ridgeline engine.

Instead, under the hood you’ll find two Honda 3.6 liter BF250 VTEC marine (outboard) engines.

“Honda didn’t have a strong enough engine in their truck and SUV lineup, so they utilized two outboards, which are engineered to be linked together,” the source explained.  He said the two engines will be rated to tow a 10,000 pound horse trailer or up to eight water skiers.

The truck should be available late this fall pending Coast Guard approval.
