Tricky Backward Ambulance Lettering Sends Sign Painter Over the Edge

When this photo was taken, sign painter Doyle Rutmonker hadn’t yet noticed his mistake

“Son of a Bitch!”  shouted professional sign painter Doyle Rutmonker as he threw his paintbrush across the garage and kicked over a can of red paint.

“I freakin’ forgot to paint some of the letters backward,” he said, pointing to an “N” and “E” on the front of an ambulance hood he was hired to paint.  “That’s the third time I screwed it up.”

Rutmonker continued his rant:  “I hate painting f**king ambulance hoods!  Why does the word “AMBULANCE” have to be painted backward?  People know it’s a f**king ambulance!  I mean, it’s got flashing lights and a f**king siren blaring, for God’s sake!”

A neighbor called police after Rutmonker removed his belt and began beating the Ford E-Series ambulance with it.  He is said to be receiving help and feeling better now.
