Spy Photos Show Big Changes For 2019 Ford Super Duty

2019 F-450: From “side-by-side” to “front and rear”

In an effort to differentiate the F-350 and F-450 Super Duty pickups, Ford will switch to two tandem rear axles for the larger truck for the ’19 model year.  That’s according to an exclusive Parksplug image nabbed by highly renowned and mildly crosseyed spy photographer Egret Mahalo.

The rear axle’s fore-and-aft axle placement doesn’t increase payload or towing capacity, but sources say it makes it easier to check tire pressure and allows Ford to charge buyers for two more chrome wheels.

In addition, Ford will offer a semi truck-type sleeper option on all DRW Super Duty’s.

Inside is a bed that bony short-legged people who primarily sleep on their side will find comfortable.  There’s also a two-burner stove that burns diesel exhaust fluid, as well as an airline-type vacuum toilet said to be powerful enough to suck down a buckwheat pillow.
