Ford’s Best Idea: Ford Flex Shipping Container

Ford says sales of it’s Flex crossover utility box (CUB) increased “a whole bunch of percent” last month after the automaker began marketing it as a crossover shipping container (CSC) rather than a spacious family vehicle.

“One of our marketing guys came up with the idea after he rented a POD to store some boxes in.  It was in the driveway next to his Flex and when he came out in the morning he mistakenly tried to drive the POD to work,” explained giggling Ford spokesperson Aroma Rose McGuzzle.

According to Ford, with the seats removed, the Flex has approximately 800 cubic feet of space, enough to store the contents of a tiny off-grid home.

“Nobody wants to drive one, including me,” said McGuzzle, “but you sure can store a lot of crap in one.”
