Aquarium Employee in Hot Water After Using Electric Eel to Jumpstart Jeep

A Malador Bay aquarium employee said he was just trying to get home after a long shift when he used one of the facility’s electric eels to jumpstart his Jeep.  But now he might find himself out of a job.

A security camera caught Lazario Dimmett taking the eel back to its tank after using it to jumpstart his Jeep.

Aquarium security cameras caught Lazario Dimmitt returning the eel to its tank after using it to jumpstart his Jeep.

Lazario Dimmitt said that after locking up the aquarium for the day, he went outside to his Jeep, only to find its battery dead.

“I didn’t have any jumper cables and there wasn’t anybody else around, so I jumped it with the eel,” explained Dimmitt. His boss — besides noting that was probably the first time in history that anyone has ever uttered that particular sentence — disciplined Dimmitt by suspending him for a week.  “If the eel is okay, he can come back to work,” said the manager, apparently referring to Dimmitt, not the eel.
