“We used to come out here with our 4x4s and there wasn’t anybody else around,” dour off-road enthusiast Donnie “Lurch” Sturban said as he petted his dog, Lard. “Now everywhere you go there’s idiots drinking Starbucks and taking selfies and shit.”
Angry 4×4 enthusiasts say everything changed following last month’s opening of a new Starbucks store off the side of the Rubicon near a narrow, steep grade called Cadillac Hill.
“Ain’t the same no more,” said Sturban, shaking his head. “We gotta find another trail.”
