Dodge to Remake Dart into Mall Runner Called the “Blart”
As the saying goes, “If you never change your mind, why have one?” Fiat Chrysler apparently has no qualms about changing directions as the automaker announced today that it will not kill off the Dodge Dart after all, and instead will transform the compact sedan into a small crossover SUV for the 2017 model year.

“I went to the mall with my wife over the weekend,” explained Elemeno Peak, Dodge’s Director of Product Marketing, “and I noticed that the entire parking lot was filled with crossovers. That’s when I got the idea for the Blart.”
Looking like a two-box, tall-roofed Dart, the four-cylinder Blart will transport five passengers to the mall in reasonable comfort. However, because of the hump necessitated by the optional four-wheel-drive system, the center rear seat occupant will likely feel as if he’s riding a bony mule.
