Kia Complains: “Our J.D. Power Award for Quality Fell Apart!”
Kia was justifiably proud after taking home the coveted Pretty Damned Good Quality award from J.D. Power for its 2015 Sorento and Soul. But the Korean automaker’s elation was short lived.
Just days after the company received the prestigious award recognizing the quality of its vehicles, the trophy’s gold risers warped and broke off, and the entire thing fell into what Pavel L. Susabulb, Kia’s Assistant Props Master, called “a heap of pieces.”
“We wanted to use that award in our television and magazine advertising,” said the deflated Susabulb, who is reportedly one of very few deflated Susabulbs that still exist.
Despite his attempts to fix the broken award using Gorilla Glue, Susabulb said he succeeded only in gluing his fingers to the bridge of his nose.
Sadly, Kia’s award for quality was not of high quality, but at least they can take heart in the fact that they still have one of the few remaining deflated Susabulbs.
