L.A. Tesla Store Acknowledges One Restroom Isn’t Enough After Millions Show Up to Place Orders For Model 3
A crowd of nearly four million people descended upon a Los Angeles Tesla store yesterday hoping to place a deposit on the automaker’s $35,000 Model 3 sedan, but several hundred thousand of them became surly after discovering the store had just one restroom.
“We got caught with our proverbial pants down,” said Thaddeus, the Tesla store’s manager (like many Indonesians, Thaddeus uses only one name, although he is not Indonesian). “We expected maybe two hundred people, not four million. We really need another bathroom,” he acknowledged.
Gypsy Cunningham, a 37-year-old clairvoyant who specializes in communicating with the living, said she stood in line for 19 hours waiting to put down a $500 deposit on a Model 3, but had to leave after her bladder began quivering and making thumping noises. “I had to walk a half-mile down to Trader Joe’s and use their restroom,” she said, adding that she lost her place in the deposit line.
Thaddeus, the Tesla manager, apologized to those who were unable to place a deposit, and invited them back to “use our restroom anytime.”
