From Bad to Worse: Ryan Lochte Rescued After Amphicar Sinks

It’s been a bad few weeks for U.S. Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte. First, over-chlorinated water in a Brazilian swimming pool bleached all the brown out of his hair. Then, Brazilian authorities announced they will likely charge him with felony over-exaggerating for a late-night incident at a Manhã Tarde (AM/PM) minimart and gas station.

Yesterday, Lochte suffered another setback when he had to be rescued by a Coast Guard helicopter after his speeding Amphicar sank near Point Cheevers.  “I would have swam…or swum…but I’m tired of swumming,” said the beleaguered Lochte.

Coast Guard spokesperson Petty Officer Petty said the Amphicar was last seen sinking by the stern, which, according to Petty Officer Petty, is the back.
