VW Regrets Buying Undercoating and Extended Warranties for Recalled Jetta

E. Blote Pacmeyer walked away with a wad of cash in his hand as a smoke-belching tow truck hauled off his recalled diesel-engined 2013 Volkswagen Jetta.

“It was great!” exclaimed Pacmeyer, describing his experience selling his car back to VW as a result of the so-called “Dieselgate” emissions legal settlement.

Volkswagen, on the other hand, appeared to be experiencing buyer’s remorse, claiming that Pacmeyer talked VW purchasers into extras including undercoating, fabric protection, rustproofing and an extended warranty.

“I can’t believe the car owner talked us into buying all those worthless extras ,” said Volkswagen spokesman Ogart Didsbury.  “He really took advantage of us.”

Pacmeyer, however, disagreed, saying, “I took the time to explain everything very thoroughly.  They signed the contract, so, basically, they’re out of luck .”
