Man Sits on Miata’s Center Console Across Seven States

When a friend asked Augie Weisenberger to accompany him on a drive from Missouri to Oregon, Weisenberger jumped at the chance.  “It sounded like fun,” he told Parksplug, “and it had been a long time since I’d been on a road trip.”

Unbeknownst to Weisenberger, however, was that he would be the third occupant in a two-seater Mazda Miata, and would have to sit on the center console for the entire trip.

After driving 2,026 miles nearly non-stop, the trio arrived in Portland, Oregon, and, as he was lifted from the car, Weisenberger grimaced in pain and whispered, “That f**king parking brake lever…” over and over.

When asked how he’ll get back home to Missouri, Weisenberger simply replied, “Southwest.”
