Doctor Regrets Purchasing Ram for Mobile Colonoscopy Unit
“I never thought the brand of van I drive would affect my business,” Dr. Darvis Livardi said quietly. When he started his mobile colonoscopy business The Roving Scope two years ago, Livardi purchased a Ford E-250 cargo van, but he soon realized he needed more space.
“I really needed a high-roof van. Not for my patients, but for me,” said the affable 6’2″ tall gastroenterologist. “I saw the Ram and thought, ‘that’s perfect’, and I never gave the Ram name a second thought.”
But within days of purchasing the Ram van, his calls dropped off and business dwindled. “People tell me they’d never get a colonoscopy in a Ram,” said Livardi solemnly.
“I can’t sell it because no one wants a used colonoscopy van; I don’t know what to do,” said the despondent Livardi.
“I guess I should have bought a Sprinter.”
