New Law Limits Size of Flags Flying From Pickup Trucks
After receiving thousands of complaints and reports of accidents, state lawmakers today voted to limit the size of flags mounted in pickup beds.
“We’re not trying to be unpatriotic,” said state assemblyman Arlick Duffleman, “but we have folks flying United Nations-sized flags from their Silverados. It’s gotten a bit out of hand.”
Asked when the new bill — which limits truck bed-mounted flags to 6 x 9-feet– will take effect, Duffleman wiped his nose with his tie and replied, “Oh crap, I don’t know…maybe next month or sometime next year.”
Lucky Mutton from Pustule Springs, who flies a 12′ x 18′ American flag from the bed of his Ram pickup, said he was disappointed by the new law but understood the safety concerns. “A buddy of mine used to fly a giant flag from his Wrangler until one day the wind shifted and flipped him over in front of the Sheetz station.”
