Subaru Appoints Dogs to Board of Directors
After years of marketing Subarus as a dog’s best friend, the automaker has stepped up and appointed three canines as corporate directors.
“We’re proud to announce that Ajax, Cletus and Sprinkles have joined our board,” said Subaru’s CEO Buster Yeggie. “We’re confident they will bring a new perspective, a lot of slobber and a bunch of squeaky toys to the table.”
Yeggie said the dogs’ influence will be apparent beginning with the next model year. “Subaru will switch to using dog years rather than regular calendar years, so next year’s Subarus will be 2026’s, followed by the 2033’s, etc.”
In addition, all Subarus will now come standard with a stick. No, not a manual transmission — an actual stick that can be tossed and retrieved at the dog park.
