Shopping Cart Manufacturer Recalls First Vehicle for Wheel-Wobbling Problem
Kundvagn, a Swedish manufacturer of millions of supermarket shopping carts used worldwide, is recalling its first passenger vehicle after dozens of owners reported their car’s front wheels wobbled uncontrollably.
“It’s very frustrating,” said Hiho Ruttling, the owner of a 2019 Kundvagn XF crossover. “The damned front wheel just starts twirling around as I drive. Plus, it squeaks, too.”
Kundvagn spokesperson Cornelia Björk, whose last name kind of rhymes with “fjord” but not really, said the company is aware of the problem. “Sometimes crumbs from the deli or bakery department get caught up in a wheel bearing, causing the wheel to spin.”
Björk suggested owners flip the car on its side and use compressed air to blow out the crumbs. “At least that works on the shopping carts,” she said, shrugging her shoulders.
