The White House announced today that England’s Lotus Cars has won the bid to produce the next generation of presidential limousines.

“The president wanted something extremely lightweight for greater fuel efficiency,” explained White House spokesperson Bwana Kitzmiller.  “That knocked a lot of manufacturers out of the competition.  In fact, the only proposal we received besides the Lotus Potus was some dreadful Frankenlimo on a stretched Polaris Slingshot platform.”

Asked if the White House expected any backlash over the British-built Potus*, Kitzmiller replied, “Well, Lotus told us they would build it at their plant in Norfolk and that’s in Virginia, right?”
