Elderly Buick Owner Claims She Has Turned Into a WiFi Hotspot
Senior citizen and wifi hotspot Lavender Speegle (L) says she attracts crowds of smartphone users wherever she goes
88-year-old Lavender Speegle is a great grandmother — and a wi-fi hotspot.
Speegle claims that a few months after she purchased her new Buick LaCrosse equipped with a 4G LTE hotspot, she became one herself.
Speegle, who drives several hours each day delivering liquor and cigarettes to shut-ins, believes her Buick’s wi-fi hotspot has “rubbed off” on her. “It’s like radioactivity,” she explained. “You spend too much time around it and you become radioactive, too.”
“It’s very annoying,” Speegle complained. “I go for a walk and all these youngsters with their phones and computers follow me around everywhere I go.”
