“I really feel violated,” said Dickie Mermaster after viewing the unauthorized photos, which included images of the inside of his garage door and someone’s feet.

Mermaster, who says he doesn’t know how or why he was targeted, took his 2015 Volkswagen Jetta to a dealership to have the camera system checked. “They fixed it so it can’t happen again,” said Mermaster, who explained that the dealership charged him $350 to put a piece of masking tape over the camera lens.

Nasty commenters are correct--an insulated garage door wouldn't have cost much more

It’s true:  he really should have spent a little more for the insulated door. Moron.

Mermaster said he now fears for his safety, as hundreds of anonymous posters have called him offensive names for not spending a little more for an insulated garage door.
