Automaker admits they’re all stretched 3-Series; Telescoping Body Panel Adds Additional Length


In a news conference today, BMW acknowledged that 3, 5 and 7 series cars are really all the same vehicle, just different lengths.

“Yes, it’s true,” admitted BMW spokesman Helmut Helm.  “There is a built-in sliding body panel that extends the length of the car.” 

During a demonstration, A BMW technician tugged on the front bumper of a 3-series, releasing a hidden panel and extending the car’s length.  “There.  Now it is a 7-Series,” said Helm.

“So that’s why all their cars look alike,” mused one reporter.
