Dancer Threatens to Sue Volvo’s Polestar Over Name
A pole dancer named Vera Aloe is threatening to file suit against Polestar, a company that produces high-performance Volvos.

Aloe, who lives in Sinking Springs, Ohio, claims she has billed herself as “The Pole Star” since 1992, four years before Volvo’s Polestar began operations.
“I am The Pole Star,” asserted Aloe as she dangled upside-down from a pole in the living room of her condominium and wiggled her toes alluringly. “I’ve been performing all over Ohio for years, from Roxabell down to Bacon Flat, and I had the name first.”
Due to confusion over time zones — it was May 30th here but late October in Gothenburg, Sweden where Polestar is headquartered — we were unable to reach anyone at the company for comment, but we sent them a Vimeo of Aloe dancing.
