2018 Camaro: Don’t Raise the Roof — Lower the Windows!
Complaints about the current Camaro’s lack of outward visibility are finally being addressed in the ’18 model.
“Designers had a choice,” said Titus McNernernerny, who isn’t an automotive designer but enjoys drawing cars on the back of air sickness bags whenever he flies somewhere. “They could either raise the roof or lower the window line.”
From the attached photo, it appears that Chevrolet has chosen the second option, no doubt in order to maintain the Camaro’s aggressively low roofline.
However, one source tells us that because the exterior mirrors are now lower, Chevrolet had to use thinner seat bottoms so the driver can see the mirrors. “Now drivers complain they can’t see over the dashboard and their feet are going numb,” said the source.
It’s always something.
