First Look: Superformance’s New Cobra Pickup!

“The sports car market is in the toilet; everybody wants trucks and SUV’s.”  That’s the rationale given by Superformance product development chief Glen Bob Pertner for the decision to graft a 60’s inspired pickup bed onto the company’s Cobra replica two-seater.

With no tow hitch and only a 115-pound payload capacity, Pertner acknowledged the sport truck is limited to light-duty applications.  “It’s really designed for the owner who takes his car out for a Sunday drive and stops by Ace for a bag of Weed and Feed and some popcorn on the way home.”

Performance of the new trucklet is said to be on par with the roadster, as the two share the same engine choices and suspension.  “It may not haul a sheet of drywall, but it’ll sure haul ass,” yukked Pertner.
